The song going through my head tonight is, "Because He Lives." Thursday we were "staring down the barrel" at what was expected to be Hurricane Thomas. While we received a lot of rain and some of southern Haiti had flooding and wind damage, it was not nearly as destructive as predicted.
Yesterday (Saturday) was a quiet day as we wished my dad and neighbor kid, Zach, a happy birthday.
Today has been a rollercoaster, full of highs and lows. My good friend and neighbor Julie had a birthday today. :) A friend of Megan's found out she had lice as they were leaving for Sunday School. :( The singing at church was amazing today. When we got home, we got an email about a fellow MAF pilot in another country that we had met during eval/training who was killed in a surfing accident (HUGE blow). Please pray for his sweet wife and little son as they "face tomorrow". They celebrated their 5th anniversary about a month ago, so I know this is going to be tough. Yet, I know He holds the future, and "this child can face uncertain days because He lives." I am thankful for Immanuel, God with us, in both the especially joyous times as well as those when we feel we cannot go another step.
