Christmas 2014

The first snow
Chilly weather came early to Nampa this year. While pumpkins still decorated our porch and leaves were still stubbornly clinging to trees, about five inches of snow descended on us unexpectedly. We are all anticipating Christmas! Our manger scenes have emerged from their boxes, and our tree has been trimmed since the beginning of November. Maybe part of our anticipation is due to the cold snap, but also my soul stirs and my heart longs for "good"....for the wrong to be made right. "Come thou long expected Jesus."

Diana's graduation
As we conclude this year and anticipate turning the calendar page to "2015," I am so thankful for the blessings we have enjoyed during the past 12 months. For the 2013-14 school year, we had an extra daughter....Diana Flores from Ecuador...living with us. This encouraged us to get out and experience more of the community events/attractions and taught us a bit more about Ecuador.

Her mom, Patricia, came to visit for her "graduation" in May.  This sweet, gentle little lady is fearless! Such a trooper! Besides shopping and packing like a pro, she rode the biggest rides at the water park, went white water rafting and even drove her little rental car up through the dirt, mountain roads to "the cabin".

My parents, brother Paul and his family, and sister Hannah with her daughter Lillianna came around the same time to cheer Paul on to victory as he participated in an Ironman half-marathon in Boise. Impressive!!

Being together during that time was certainly a highlight for the year. Todd's Nashville brother & family visited a little later this summer. Lots of late night games and chatting were enjoyed by all!

Todd with Kyle & his mom
Although the special occasions are the memorable landmarks, we spend the most time in our day-to-day activities. Todd has now been working at Skyline Aircraft maintenance for over a year and a half. He also helps out with some of the technical responsibilities at church. I am substitute teaching several days a week and enjoy helping in the 1st/2nd grade girls Sunday School class a couple times a month. We all enjoy being involved in several of the missions groups and activities at church. Kyle and Megan are attending the same school this year....both in middle school!

Kyle (13 yrs old, 8th grade) is on the puppet team at church and is involved in boy scouts and the youth group.

Megan (12 yrs old, 6th grade) enjoys painting lessons and being on the kids' video team at church. We have loved living in the same town as Todd's parents and other brother. We especially cherish the time with them during family celebrations and holidays. We are so thankful for all of the friends who have influenced our lives in one way or another over the years. Whether your friends and family are near or far away during this Christmas time, we pray that you will know Immanuel….God with us…and that you will know His peace.
Love and joy,
The Edgertons
